"I was immediately made to feel at ease"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Cataract Unit

(as the patient),

I was dreading having an operation on my eye but the experience was not nearly as bad as I had imagined it would be. My operation was carried out at Queen Margaret hospital in Dunfermline and I was immediately made to feel at ease by the nurses and the doctor when I arrived. They were an excellent support throughout the procedure with one nurse holding my hand while the doctor operated. I was relieved that the procedure was not at all stressful and appreciated the care and attention the team afforded me. I was given clear instructions on the way ahead and told that I would be listed to have the other eye fixed at some time in the future. Back up was provided when I had to phone to arrange further eye drops.
