"Catering or lack of"

About: Ninewells Hospital

(as a service user),

In the absence of delicious, nutritious, food. I went to seek other options available on the main concourse.

An over priced newsagents, and a greasy spoon cafe.

Is there any plans upcoming for a better, healthier option for patients and staff? I realise that I could possibly be a fussy eater however I’m thinking of a Marks & Spencer‘s with fresh fruit and sandwiches available perhaps even with  a coffee vending machine not asking the world just decent food a decent price.

Dear marsfk44

Apologies for the delay in our response.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on the main concourse within Ninewells and bringing this to our attention. NHS Tayside continues to work with retailers on the main concourse to assist them in compliance with the Healthcare Retail Standards that will allow for the provision of healthy affordable choices for patients and staff.

Kind regards

Caroline McKenzie

Head of Catering, NHS Tayside
