I recently gave birth to my son at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow. The maternity hospital staff were absolutely incredible from start to finish.
I had previously given birth to my daughter during the pandemic 3 years ago and due to the restrictions at the time I suffered badly from PTSD following the birth.
For this pregnancy I received support from the maternity psychological intervention team. The specialist midwife I worked with was an amazing support and helped prepare me for the birth.
From the moment I entered the maternity building I was treated with kindness, care and compassion. The staff in the antenatal ward were extremely supportive and communicated effectively with me.
When I entered the labour ward I felt extremely supported. The midwife who delivered my son instantly put me at ease and helped guide me through the birthing process. She was incredible.
I am so thankful to everyone who made the birth of my son such a wonderful, positive experience and I will never forget them for all their care and kindness to me and my family.
