"Unfailingly patient, kind and efficient"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Cataract Unit

(as the patient),

I was fortunate to get a cancellation appointment for the second of my cataract operations but luckily I was second on the list so it was an early start.

The admin and nursing staff were unfailingly patient, kind and efficient. It was a public holiday and yet the consultant and staff were working to try to reduce the long backlog of cases due to the Covid difficulties etcetera.

I had an anaesthetic injection which was quite something but it wore off during the day however it was quite painful the next morning. Paracetamol coped well with the pain.

Once again I would like to say how lovely everyone at the hospital was and how they made a potentially stressful occasion much easier.  Thank you all.

Dear Rab90,

Thank you for taking the time for sharing your recent experience in the Cataract unit. It is lovely to hear that everyone was patient and kind.

Hopefully the discomfort from the injection has settled but if you have any concerns please don't hesitate to speak to the team on 01383 674130.

We wish you well in your recovery

Stacey Arnott
