"Stay in cardiology unit"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

The cardiologist was lovely and came to see each patient every week day. She spoke as if she really cared could not fault her. As soon as cardiologists ward round was over the nurses were nowhere to be seen. I got so much help from the cleaners and the lady asking what I would like to eat each day. I must add not all nurses were like that ( Disappearing).

I had two admissions in May 2023 then another just after that . Unfortunately my brother-in- law was just 2 bays from myself but we were both to ill to make it to each other. No staff to ask for a wheelchair but we were too unwell.

I think the cardiology department  needed cheering up décor wise also. I reiterate how lovely the cleaners were, and food order lady also. They spotted I’ve got rheumatoid arthritis and opened food items for me when they saw I was struggling. Also providing me with appropriate cutlery. They were so very kind and deserve a special award in my opinion!

Hi horologiumjc78

I work in the Facilities department at NDDH and it is wonderful to read your high praise with regards to the cleaners and food service staff. I will be sure to pass your comments on to their line manager so they are aware there good work is not going unnoticed.
