"All staff have been kind and caring."

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Gynaecology (Ward 49) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Xrays and Scans

(as the patient),

I have had amazing care at ward 49 of Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. All staff have been kind and caring. Particular mention to Dr Khaund for amazing care and great explanations.

All of the nurses in particularly Chloe on night shift for giving me a hug when I was upset, changing my bed when I spilled my tea and for letting my husband stay. Gillian took great care of me when I arrived and stayed with me during 2 CT scans. Lara (I think that was her name on the day I arrived) for being incredibly reassuring and gentle. Jennifer gave great care after my surgery.

Julie was incredibly kind, shared personal stories and looked after my husband as well as me. Erin was lovely and couldn’t do enough for us.

CT staff were also reassuring.

There was also a porter who moved me twice between CT and the ward. I wish I knew his name, he was funny and came back for me even though his shift was just about done. After I was taken to my room he went and spoke to my family after he dropped me off. He was very gentle and mentioned every bump in the lifts before it happened.

I really appreciated all my family being allowed in and the flexible visiting hours made my stay better.

Thanks so much everyone!

Dear R4F4,

Thank you for the lovely care opinion review about your experience in ward 49.

I have passed on your comments to the the nursing staff in the ward and will mention to

the porters your comments as well.

The team in the ward always try to provide patient centered care by supporting relatives and having open visiting. This allows your family to be with you especially when you are feeling unwell.

I hope you are now recovering well, and all the staff send you their best wishes,

Christine Dunn,

Senior Charge Nurse,

Ward 49,

QEUH.
