"The poor treatment of vulnerable people"

About: New Stobhill Hospital / Mackinnon House

(as a relative),

I followed through the process of calling for help as my partner was going through a period of psychosis. The only thing that has been said since arriving in this unit is a stern, unwelcoming face saying fill that out. My partner used his teeth the take the pen lid off and was snapped at by the member of staff about other people using the pen. It’s clear to me the pen and power is more important in here than patient wellbeing . Having worked in a care sector I am absolutely disgusted and frankly scared to leave my partner here!

Dear S Anon

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. May I take this opportunity to apologise for you and your partner’s experience and for the distress this has caused you.

This is an extremely emotional and upsetting time for you both. It is never our intention to cause any additional stress or concerns to families. Your feedback will be shared with the Senior Management Team so that we can improve our service. If you would like to discuss this in more detail, can you please speak to the Nurse in Charge of the ward?

Thank you.

Nicole
