I recently attended Day Surgery at Stobhill. I was cared for by the Day Surgery Unit and transferred to Ward A for overnight care.
Due to complications I was extremely distressed and difficult when I was admitted, something I am not proud of. Every member of staff I dealt with was patient understanding, caring and reassuring even though I didn't make it easy for them.
There are too many mentions but I'd like to make a particular thanks to the anaesthetist Dr Young who was amazing throughout and my surgeons Mr Morton and Miss Duff who stepped in to make me less anxious. The theatre team were amazing and did everything the could to keep me settled including putting on my favourite music, and all of the staff who looked after me in the unit pre-op and in recovery were lovely.
I was looked after by Fiona and her team overnight in Ward A and they were a godsend constantly making me feel at ease and checking in on me and she handed me over to Lorraine and Ellen's team in the morning who looked after me. Nothing was too big an ask and although it got off to a rocky start the experience I had in Stobhill is one of the best I've ever had in hospital which is so important for someone who is in so regularly and does not cope well in hospital. Thank You!
