Anything else?
Last weekend I had to visit A&E with a breathing problem. The Paramedics arrived and spent time reviewing what was wrong with me and providing assurance that they were in control of the situation. I was then taken to A&E with the Paramedics explaining why they had made the decision and that it was precautionary. At A&E I was immediately assessed and tests started. Again the level of assurance was just what I had hoped; however the care and respect I was shown was beyond anything I expected. I was visited by the doctor who explained what they felt was wrong with me, what tests they would undertake to ensure they were correct and the likely treatment. At no time did I feel the team were rushed or uncaring, indeed everyone smiled and talked to me (again I would use the word respect). Once the tests were completed the Doctor again visited me to tell me the results and confirm the treatment. After receiving this I was discharged, with the knowledge that all of the less likely (but more serious) reasons had been investigated and discounted. Please pass my thanks on to the A&E team who should be proud of the professional and caring attitude they displayed, and the smiles certainly made me feel better as well.
"Is this the best A&E?"
