I recently attended the High Wycombe Minor Injuries Clinic with a very painful right foot. A very helpful lady registered me on the system and asked me to take a seat in the waiting room, it was busy.
After about 10 minutes I was triaged and returned to the waiting area. After about 10 minutes I was called by a Senior Nurse Practitioner who gave my foot a thorough examination.
She arranged for an X-ray which was carried out immediately by two very helpful Radiographers. I returned to the waiting area, even more busy , and within 10 minutes was back with the Nurse who confirmed no broken bones but a very painful gout.
She prescribed medication and asked that I arrange a blood test in two weeks’ time.
Well done NHS High Wycombe, busy yes, but highly efficient, professional and helpful.
