After just one small episode of PMB I was very quickly referred for an internal ultrasound which showed the lining of my endometrium had thickened and also a possible abnormality in the uterus.
Within a matter of days I had an appointment at the PMB clinic at Treliske for a hysteroscopy and biopsy.
I was extremely anxious due to a previous intervention to remove pre-cancerous cells from my cervix. That was in the '90s, in a different part of the country and a completely different procedure, but my anxiety level was still high.
The team that looked after me at the PMB clinic - Quili, Helena, Carol and Yvonne - were wonderful. Their care was exceptional, they gently reassured me, the procedure was explained step by step and at any time I could say stop.
One nurse stood at my side the whole time chatting to me (sadly I cannot remember her name due to gas and air analgesia) but I would like to thank her for her support and her hand to squeeze. In fact I would like to say thank you to all of them for making the terror vanish and for making me laugh.
