I have been with Amwell Practice since I was a kid and honestly, the service is awful and keeps getting worse. Extremely unhelpful receptionists, if you are lucky enough to get past them, the odds of getting a good doctor are 50/50. I understand the NHS is stretched but if you are dealing with people, especially in need of help so there is still a level of personable service needed.

Called to make an appointment to be told they were all booked, then I had to push the receptionist on what the next steps were then there was magically a telephone appointment. Same receptionist called back telling me I got a text to send photos, didn't believe me I hadn't received and I had to be push for an email address. I received the text about 5 mins after the call.

The doctor was fine.

Another doctor reviewed my xray and sent a text saying to book a non urgent face to face appointment if symptoms are ongoing.

Receptionist (same as receptionist as before) wouldn't let me book a non urgent appointment.

Throughout the whole experience receptionist was difficult, unhelpful and lacked people skilled. Had very limited interactions with the doctors in this experience.

Dear patient,

I am so sorry that you had a bad experience.

We are introducing a new system this week whereby every patient request for a doctors appointment will be reviewed by a GP and the appropriate appointment will be booked in there and then, meaning that patients will no longer negotiate booking GP appointments with our reception team.

We would love to have your feedback on the new system once it is up and running.
