"Excellent care"

I was recently in Gartnavel General hospital for a colonoscopy. I have had this procedure twice before, but over ten years ago. The nurse doing the initial assessment was clear, kind and professional. I felt I completely understood my options and what the procedure would involve.

I would like to extend my thanks and compliments to Dr Seenan (gastroenterologist consultant) and his colleague, Iona. Iona was leading the procedure with Dr. Seenan supervising, and there were two very helpful and kind nurses assisting in the procedure.

I could tell there was double the staff than when I previously had this procedure and had opted for gas & air. Despite being quite high on the gas and air (which was funny at times!) the nurses and doctors were excellent at communicating, informing about the procedure and giving lots of positive reinforcement, which did help take the awkwardness out of an unpleasant procedure.

I felt I was kept safe, informed and there was a kind and communicative atmosphere. I then received good care from the nurses before I left the endoscopy suite.

Overall, I was really impressed and grateful for having such an excellent care team managing this procedure. Well done IBD and endoscopy team at Gartnavel general! Please feel appreciated.
