(as a relative),

Husband sent to Hairmyres Aand E with chest pains. Fast tracked through A&E after multiple tests to an admittance ward were we saw consultant Dr Mulholland.

Having dealt with hospitals previously with elderly relatives and been appalled at the service, I was astounded at the level of service and care given particularly from Dr Mulholland. She was excellent, kind and so easy to talk to, superb, everything you hope a Dr would be. She got an emergency heart scan for my husband for the next day and asked to see us after the scan to explain the results. What a credit to your profession, wish you could roll her out to the whole of the Scottish NHS.

Thank you for your lovely comments regarding the care provided by Dr Mulholland to your husband. She is indeed a credit to the profession and I agree that it would be wonderful if we could roll her out across the whole NHS.

Your feedback will be shared across the wider team and of course with Dr Mulholland herself. Staff will appreciate your kind words and be pleased to know that you were astounded at the level of service. I am sorry that this standard was not what you experienced previously with your elderly relatives.

As you say, Dr Mulholland is everything you hope a doctor would be. We can all learn from her excellent communication and person centred care.

I hope that your husband is recovering well. Thank you again for your kindness.
