"Inspired such good feelings and happy thoughts"

About: Community Mental Health Services / North East Hub Montrose Links (Links Health Centre) / Community Treatment & Care Centre (CTACS) Occupational Therapy / Community Occupational Therapy Physiotherapy Services / Angus Community Physiotherapy

(as the patient),

Speaking with Lisa about the difficulties I faced was very hard for me.  Lisa was amazing.  So friendly and happy and smiley with such a bubbly personality, really helped and put me at ease.

She became a member of our family as she met my mum, dad and granny.

She listened to everything not only that I said but what my family said too.  She made my whole “carer unit” feel listened to and not disregarded.  She actually listened to everything everyone had to say.

She inspired such good feelings and happy thoughts so that I always felt understood and worthwhile.

She helped me by referring me to people and groups that really benefited me and has helped me.  OT has arranged for a wheelchair, a ramp for our garden to help me get in the house when using my wheelchair, a commode for using inside the house with narrower doors and changing the downstairs toilet and utility room into a wet shower room so I can have proper showers now that I can’t get go upstairs.

She has helped with communication with the consultant regarding medication and appointments.

Referring me to community physio and OT to help me do more things on my own but also with people that are not my mum, dad or granny who are the 3 people I can be fully understood by when using non verbal looks, etc.   I am really looking forward to both of these when they start so that I can become more independent and less dependent on my mum who is my 24/7 carer.

I also had appointments with Hazel who is the trainee psychologist and Hazel really helped me to understand my fears and concerns and taught me how to get through them.
