"You are all wonderful"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Newlyn Unit Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Nuclear Medicine Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Tower Theatres/Recovery

(as a service user),

I just want to say a big thank you for all the care and kindness your wonderful staff showed me whilst having my recent treatment/surgery.

From the nuclear medical team - radiologist to the staff on Newlyn Ward and the anaesthetist and trainee ODP. The surgeon - Mr Pinto (miracle worker) - and his team. The recovery staff were wonderful.

There were a few areas of discomfort when I had the blue dye injected into my face without local anaesthetic. it didn't last long though and I was grateful for the kind nurse who held my hand.

The anaesthetic strip they use to observe the depth of the anaesthesia is like a strong velcro, that was a bit uncomfortable, but what is that in the grand scheme of things?

You are all wonderful, you all do an amazing job. What would we do without you? You do a wonderful job.

Thank you all so much.

Dear cepheuskt87,

Thank you for taking the time to share your story with us. I was so pleased to read about your experience in Nuclear Medicine and Newlyn where you found all the staff to be kind throughout your procedures. It is lovely to see that you found comfort in the nurse holding your hand during an uncomfortable injection as well.

I am responding to you as a member of the Patient Engagement Team at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, but I will ensure that your lovely feedback reaches the teams that looked after you, I know they will be pleased to receive it.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your story with us.

Best wishes,

Jess

Dear cepheuskt87,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your lovely feedback. I am so pleased to hear that you had such a positive experience!

I am one of the Imaging Quality & Service Improvement Leads, and would be delighted to share your feedback with the Nuclear Medicine Team. I am so pleased to hear that you were well looked after and supported whilst you visited us. Nuclear Medicine is a very unusual environment, and can be quite scary for people, so I am really pleased to hear that you were treated with the kindness, compassion and respect you deserve and that it ended up being a positive experience for you!

Thank you again for your lovely words, and for taking your time to share your journey and feedback with us! From all of us here in Clinical Imaging, we wish you the very best!

Best wishes,
Tom
