I recently attended the Minor Injuries Unit University at Hospital Wishaw following a bad fall.

Having been unable to get through to NHS 111 (using the app and trying to call), I went over to the A&E department to book myself into the reception. The waiting area looked really busy and I was preparing myself for a lengthy wait.

I was extremely surprised when I was called through to the Minor Injuries Unit after only 30 minutes !

A wonderful nurse (Ali) introduced herself and she was extremely professional. I felt respected and was impressed by her calm and caring manner.

Ali was able to demonstrate compassion and empathy for the injury I had sustained. The whole process was dealt with so efficiently and in such a satisfactory manner . 

Thanks Ali for all your care and attention. I really feel you listened to me. Your care was excellent and very much appreciated.

Firstly, thank you very much for taking the time to leave feedback on Care Opinion.

I’m sorry to hear you sustained an injury and needed to be seen in our Minor Injuries Unit.

We are a new unit within the Emergency Department of University Hospital Wishaw and to receive any feedback is very helpful to us, but your comments on the short waiting time and the professional, caring and respectful manor with which you were treated is wonderful to read.

I have shared your post with Ali who I know is delighted to read your comments and very much appreciates your effort to share this information.

I did forget to mention how impressive the minor injuries unit looked. Not overly clinical! Clean, bright and welcoming. Overall, my experience was positive under the circumstances. Thank you.
