"Understanding, friendly and caring staff"

About: St Richard's Hospital

After attending A&E today as a terminal stage 4 cancer patient on chemotherapy who brought my mother with me who is registered newly blind. I cannot praise the staff enough for a ) seeing me quickly. B) making sure I was in a side room to protect myself due to no immune system c ) to the fantastic young man porter who pushed myself to x Ray but also explained where to walk for my mother and let her hold onto him while he was navigating a busy hall and numerous beds to the x Ray staff who helped my mum to a waiting area while I was x rayed and then collected her again to come to me. All of these little things mean such a huge deal to a family who are going through such a stressful time! Neither of the staff had to help my mum but they all did and I cannot thank u all enough as it made the whole situation less stressful for us both.

Dear Patient

Thank you for your lovely post. It was good to read that we looked after you so well and your experience was fantastic with different staff. It was also good to read that mum was also looked after too.

It was nice to hear that everything was less stressful for you both.

Thank you once again for your very kind comments, they do mean a lot.

Jo Yearsley, Patient Engagement and Liaison Manager
