"Getting smoke free"

About: Smoke Free Hull

(as a service user),

I was under a lot of stress due to family ill health and found myself having to look after more than I could possibly manage. My voice started to break and got to the point where I was having difficulty speaking.

My smoking probably increased and I also tried vaping to combat this. My doctors referred me for a two week appointment which means they are concerned I may have cancer.

I was advised to stop smoking and am still waiting for the results of my biopsy. I asked for help from the no smoking service and my advisor has been a massive support. I am now one month free of smoking and am so grateful.

Hello ThanksEmily,

Thank you for sharing your story with us, and well done for being 4 weeks smokefree. We understand it's a hard addiction, and can be overwhelming too when you're struggling with other health concerns and worries. You should be so proud of yourself for sticking with it and quitting! Stopping smoking is one of the best things you can do to help your body recover.

Emily will be really pleased to know that you found her support helpful.

Wishing you all the best for your biopsy results!

Take care,
