"Gender Identity Clinics"

This is a perennial moan. If any other group of patients were treated with the same degree of arrogance, unprofessionality and indifference, there would be questions in Parliament. Transsexualism affects between 1 in 10,000 and 1 in 1,000 people, depending on whose statistics you believe. Because this is a slightly embarassing subject, very little research is done and the clinics "treating" it have very little daylight shone on them. Transpeople, themselves, are reluctant to raise their voices since, once identified, they fear reprisals from the clinic.
