Anything else?
Dewsbury hospital is a total shambles. Having spent seven days there i witnessed complete lack of communication between staff, incredibility inconsistent following of procedures, blatant lies from the staff about medical results, the inability to get any straight answers, broken promises from doctors, lost test results and occasional complete lack of compassion from the nursing staff (not to me directly, but to others on the ward). I was admitted for seven days during which the hospital did nothing for me. Since discharge (in the same condition i was admitted, I requested referral to Airedale (although it is three times as far for me to travel) and they have provided excellent care and performed the necessary tests that Dewsbury only managed to tell me i needed, but never delivered. This is the third time i have needed care at Dewsbury, the previous times from physiotherapy and maternity. It also represents the third strike. Every time the care has been appalling. Only their children's ward seems to be their saving grace. I will never return to Dewsbury hospital and seriously encourage others to do the same as my experience has not been an isolated incident. I have since received excellent care from both Airedale and Bradford Royal Infirmary. It seems to me this hospital is only good as a place to get a bed while you wait for treatment in another hospital, as per half the people in my ward.
