"Medical emergency but treatment refused"

About: Borders General Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a service user),

I was taken into A&E as a medical emergency (by ambulance) but refused treatment as was told by a doctor that A&E is for heart attacks and strokes only. I had to go home with no treatment and no examination.

I was back within an hour and at first the previous A&E Doctor tried to turn me away again and the paramedic insisted someone else treat me. I had a very serious spinal injury and now use a wheelchair,

When I've had need to call 111 or 999 since I have refused to go to A&E as I am not having heart attack or stroke.

If you could contact the patient experience team so we can look into this further

Thanks

Update posted by duckyduck (a service user)

I have already been in contact but feel I've had the usual brush off. It's a waste of my time complaining.
