Was discharged from CMHT late June this year after speaking to a pschyciatrist about why I did not have a CPN and after completing STEPPS.
I was told by the psychiatrist that she would look into this and would get back to me. I was having to make a decision on options given to me by STEPPS re-enforcer, which the dr knew about. They asked that if a CPN could not be allocated what would I do regarding my STEPPS options. I replied that I would have to take care that was offered.
A couple of weeks later I was called by the psychiatrist to state that CMHT did not have enough CPNS and that I was being discharged. The psychiatrist stated that she would refer me to the Richmond fellowship. ( This never happened delaying further care). I received a letter from CMHT detailing the above and also stating the I would benefit from CBT for my anxiety.
My GP referee me to all the above and CBT replied that I was not ready for the therapy. My condition started to worsen to lack of mental health support and the time scale in being seen by the Richmond fellowship.
Another GP how saw me also appealed the decision about CBT but was told no. My gp then refered me back to CMHT as I was getting no better, but was told that Richmond fellow could help with everything and that CBT was off the cards at the moment. ( funny that when I was told that I should have CBT).
Soon after I took an overdose. Don't ask why it was done on impulse. I felt so worthless and that no one cared. The paramedic who attended to me was concerned as to why I was not under CMHT and I explained all the above. I was told I had to see my GP ASAP.
I made an appointment and my gp re-wrote a letter to CMHT but they are still refusing to help and that there is no need to review meds.
What is happening here? ? Is this kind of care helping someone who has BPD, GAD and depression? I feel so worthless and let down!
