"Dental phobia"

About: Glasgow Dental Hospital and School / Emergency Dental Treatment Centre Level 1

(as the patient),

After pain became unbearable I got an appointment at the hospital. I have a severe dental phobia and as such have not visited a dentist since I was a child.

For over 13 years I have had a broken tooth that flares up from time to time, but I always endured the pain as I couldn't face going near a dentist.

Deepa and Chloe were outstanding, even with a very nervous patient, they were both so gentle and understanding. I was able to have the tooth extracted in no time at all and can't believe I was able to go through the procedure.

I can't thank the ladies enough for their kindness and compassion. I feel like I could be confident enough to now seek further dental treatment and finally get a smile I'm not scared to hide.

Hi Chlmn93,

I was very sorry to learn of your recent toothache and understand how challenging this must have been with your dental phobia. I was glad to hear that the Public Dental Service team were successful in supporting your care and experience demonstrating kindness and compassion towards you.

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave such lovely and positive feedback and I will be sure to share this with the team as I know they will be just as happy to learn how confident you know feel moving forward with future dental treatments

Best wishes

Catherine
