I recently gave birth in the SWAH hospital and came across two seperate ladies who helped me so much.
The first lady I would like to thank was a senior maternity assistant called Carmel who helped us with feeding our baby who was finding it difficult. She was extremely considerate and showed us several tricks to help him feed. She also showed us some other parenting tips for dressing, changing etc which we really appreciated as first time parents.
The second person I would like to thank was our community midwife, Lisa. We were still having issues feeding our baby and he was vomiting up a lot. Lisa called with us several times and reassured us when we were finding that first week extremely difficult. When Lisa left we always felt much more confident in ourselves and our decisions. Lisa made such a difference to us during those first 10 days.
