"Cheerful professionalism"

About: General practices in Tayside Ninewells Hospital / Accident & Emergency Ninewells Hospital / Acute Medical Unit (AMU) Ninewells Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

From A&E reception on the Friday to discharge on the Sunday, I have nothing but praise for all the NHS Tayside staff.

I did a quick count of around 20 that were involved in my care... I should actually include the GP and practice receptionist as GPs often get stick these days.

The cheerful professionalism that involved my own care and those around me in AMU - including the porters - was impressive, particularly overnight where the energy and polite patience never seemed to flag despite the hour.

Dr Irvine and his Coronary Care team were outstanding, with no nonchalance of a crew going through yet another commonplace procedure  - just brilliant care, clarity and cheerfulness (underrated).

Thanks to Ward One staff also - I liked the lights down, get a good night's sleep approach. Extremely grateful to all involved, strangely I'm actually glad to have gone through the experience.

Managers - please don't get complacent... look after your staff!

Thank you.

Dear DSR1

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your some of NHS Tayside's services, as well as your GP practice. Feedback is very valuable to all areas of the NHS, and I'm sure all of the staff will be delighted to hear that your experience has been positive and that you'll receive responses from the services you've mentioned.

Unfortunately, at this time, GP practices are not part of Care Opinion, as each practice is an independent business. So that they can see your feedback, we would recommend that you feedback your experience directly to the practice to allow this to be passed on to the staff. The Practice Manager there can give you with details of how to provide this feedback to them, as per their Complaints and Feedback Policy.

With best wishes for your continued recovery

Victoria Sullivan
