"Amazing care"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

We had taken my mum to Wishaw's Emergency Department, following a telephone discussion with NHS24, with a cellulitis of her arm which unfortunately had led to a fever and subsequently seizures due to being very septic. The receptionist listened to my concerns on arrival and we were taking into triage within 5 mins which avoided my mum seizing in the waiting area. Thank you for that!

She was taken straight to resus and was treated very promptly and efficiently, keeping the family fully involved and up to date with the treatment plan. The care and attention she received from all medical and nursing staff within the ED was fantastic! Thank you so much for your hard work that night.

She was moved to the MAU1 in the early hours of the morning with a clear cut treatment plan, again, in which we were fully updated with. She received excellent care and treatment in MAU1. All of the nursing and medical staff were so friendly and efficient in treating and caring for my mum. Due to this, all anxieties of our mum being admitted to hospital were relieved and we were made to feel that she was in the safest place and had no concerns throughout her week long stay.

Again, we thank all staff in University Hospital Wishaw's Emergency Department and Medical Assessment Unit 1 for their hard work and caring attitude! You were amazing!

Dear Claire15

Many thanks for taking the time to post feedback on the care your mum received whilst attending the Emergency Department here at University Hospital Wishaw and required admission to MAU1.

I am so pleased to hear that you found the staff so helpful and compassionate. It is very reassuring to read your comments and I will ensure that this is passed on to the staff for them to know that their care and personal attention is appreciated. I have no doubt they will be delighted for the feedback.

I hope your mums health is improving.

Thanks again and best wishes to you

Regards

Faith
