"Visiting slots to see inpatients"

About: Sherwood Oaks / Beech Ward

(as a friend),

I went to visit a friend on Beach Ward, Sherwood Oaks, Mansfield.

When I got there I was informed by the receptionist the visit will not be happening as my friend had already had a visitor today and was only allowed one per day. This was despite the fact it had been arranged in the morning and they knew of both visitors coming on same day.

The receptionist staff was good in the fact they contacted the ward a few times but nothing had changed. I was in the receptionist area for a full hour waiting for my lift to collect me as pre arranged.

I had no idea of such a rule of one visitor slot per day, neither did my friend nor did the receptionist staff.

I did feel as a visitor we wasn't

Dear Lofty64

thankyou for taking the time to post

sorry to read you were not able to have a visit with your friend as planned

we would always try to facilitate visits without a rule of one per day

we just have to consider space and other patient's who might have visits on the ward

apologies this should have been communicated and arranged at a convenient time

The ward manager abi drumm can help arrange if you have any issues

Many thanks, Kirsty
