"The practice is a massive let down"

About: Dr A Moghal's Practice

You're lucky if you can get a face to face appointment, as when you phone at 8am all the appointments are gone. I have had issues with ordering a repeat prescription, as I keep asking for it to be added to the NHS app, but I keep getting told I have to email the request instead, which never gets passed on to the chemist. I have had an ongoing issue since 2018 in which I just keep getting referred to other places then referred back to the gp and then stick on a random medication for X amount of weeks. Last September a consultant from KGH wrote to the surgery to ask them to refer me to Barts. In February when I phoned the surgery I was told it was still sitting on a desk and it would be sent off. In April when I phoned again as I hadn't heard from Barts I was told it hadn't been done and I would need to speak to the gp again! I have also had a letter to book a cervical screening, which I had booked an evening appointment, due to working 9-5, only to receive a text to say it had been cancelled. When I phoned to ask why I was told "I'm not allowed to say why but it's due to staffing issues" I asked if I could rebook the appointment for another day only to be told there was only day appointments available. I explained that I work 9-5 so I am unable to attend a day appointment. The receptionist then said "well you can't have a late one because the nurse has decided to only work from 9-12:45, and we only have one nurse". I already suffer with anxiety issues having to deal with phoning in the first place, and these experiences are not helping. I feel like o am being let down as a patient and I am seriously considering changing surgery's. This one is a joke, but it seems that the punchline is at the patients expense.
