"Excellent communication skills"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Ear, Nose & Throat

(as a carer),

I am writing this on behalf of my brother who attended for an initial Audiology assessment at Wishaw General. He has a learning difficulty and poor literacy skills so has asked I complete this for him.

My brother often returns from appointments having not fully understand what was discussed, often feeling overwhelmed. However, on attending Audiology he was met with Staff Nurse Hazel who explained everything to him clearly and slowly.

He was able to recite to me exactly what was discussed and his care plan going forward. He praised her excellent communication skills and in his words - I felt so comfortable and relaxed, she was really excellent.

Thank you Hazel for treating him with such respect and kindness.

Dear Wintt81,

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave such positive feedback regarding your brothers positive experience in the Audiology Department, University Hospital Wishaw. This is lovely to receive.

Hazel, and the wider Audiology team deserve such credit for their commitment to delivering exceptional person centred care every day in clinic. I will be delighted to share your comments with Hazel and the team, they will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for highlighting what a great job Hazel is doing. She certainly is a wonderful audiologist.

Kind Regards

Joanne
