"All the relavent numbers ring out!"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (London)

My elderly mother had a fall on Saturday and has broken her arm in two places. After an eight hour wait in A&E she was told that it was a bad break and will need surgery (metal rods, pins, etc). As my father has dementia, she was unable to stay in hospital until I arrived the following morning. She asked to be sent home and the A&E staff told her she would receive a call that evening with details of her procedure for the following day. It is now Tuesday and we are still waiting. I have called and nobody can tell me what is happening. When calling the orthopaedics department, I get a voicemail, with no ability to leave a message. I am not angry at staff, I am angry at the overloaded and overworked system. In the meantime, my mother suffers and my heart breaks!
