"A safe, relaxing, comforting environment"

Hey well it’s my first time in Belfast acute mental health unit, and at first I was terrified and felt threatened but all along I never needed to, this is just now a safe, relaxing, comforting environment and it’s still amazing to be here.

I have had time to reflect, time to relax, time to evaluate exactly what I want from life, all with the help of every single member of staff at this facility, the care has been above and beyond and the care workers I’ve witnessed first hand immediately attending to all patients' needs, including my own.

I'm currently going through troubled things playing on my mind, making it difficult to sleep without the help of medication, however the staff here really encourage and provide great strategies before even considering medication, they have been so warm and welcoming and I could not from the bottom of my heart be more grateful for all the support, care and love shown towards me and the patients.

I feel very privileged and I now see this as my family and home due to the kindness of everyone here.
