"Seen by ENT, nothing done"

About: Victoria Hospital / Ear, Nose & Throat

(as a parent/guardian),

My son attended ENT months and months ago. After his last appointment was told would do operation to sort constant ear problems but heard nothing and he is now taking daily painkillers. I feel this is unacceptable. I contacted patient experience and sent back consent form for his partner to speak on his behalf as he has ADHD and mental health problems.  I am going to contact my local MSP if this is not sorted. This is now affecting him every single day as well as people around him. He feels stressed, depressed,  isolated as cannot go out and I'm disgusted in the hospital's attitude. We want this sorted by ENT who said they would a long time ago.

Hello hadareb53,

Thanks for your feedback and apologies for your experience with ENT. It's absolutely understandable that you feel this situation is unacceptable, and it's commendable that you've taken steps to address it by contacting patient experience and providing consent for your son's partner to advocate on his behalf. It's vital that your concerns are heard and addressed promptly, especially considering the significant impact this is having on his daily life and well-being.

I can ensure that your feed back will be escalated to the responsible team. I truly hope that the ENT department responds promptly and takes the necessary steps to resolve your son's ear problems.
