"Much better than what I was expecting"

After having a bad fall while living on my own at home and being treated at Craigavon Hospital I was allocated a place in Slieve Roe Kilkeel for respite care.

Well, I thought that "old peoples" homes were just full of elderly folk sitting around reading old newspapers and sleeping on chairs while watching tv!

Slieve Roe soon put that notion out of my head. Everyone was so friendly, staff and patients alike, making you feel worthwhile again. Not yet ready to give up!

The food is excellent - real home made stuff with thoughtful little extras (just like your mammy made!) always something happening!

The girls always ready to help where and when needed with a smile and a wee chat, it's so essential for us "oldies".
