"good learnings from physio team"

About: Ealing Hospital

after a poor start (staff doing online assessment because of the pandemic and refusing to admit that doing assessment this way might lead to mis diagnostic) as the physio assigned to me mis diagnosed me and gave unsuitable exercises wich where damaging to my health and when i raised it with her she passed on to another physio who again put me through unsuitable exercises eventually the new physio listened to me and decided to see me in person as soon as they were allowed to. once she assessed me in person she realised that the online assessment had indeed led to things being missed and inappropriate treatment and was honest about it. after that she made sure to adapt exercises & frequency of follow up to me, and only discharged me once i was fully recovered and stable.

i realy want to thank the physio not only for persevering and finding a treatment that worked for me but for being honest. it makes so much difference as a patient to be believed and involved in my care rather than being blamed for my symptoms.

Dear Service User,

Thank you for your feedback following the care given by the Physiotherapy department.

I am glad to read that the initial hiccups in terms of the online assessment did get sorted out and the end outcome was positive.

I have passed your feedback to the physiotherapy team so that their good work can be recognised.

I hope that the physiotherapy is having a good impact on your health and wish you all the best. If you would like to share your feedback in more detail, then the Patient Experience Team can organise this. Please do contact us on LWNH-tr.PATIENTEXPERIENCE and we can talk you through this further.

Best wishes,

Leanne Fernandes - Patient Experience and Engagement Lead
