Our daughter was born in the Royal Hospital, Belfast, at 31 weeks and critically ill. After two very challenging months our daughter was moved to Craigavon Hospital NeoNatal ward, where she spent a further 40 days until dischargel.
Initially very nervous about the transition from Belfast to Craigavon after our daughter's traumatic arrival into this world, she settled so well and continued to thrive under the outstanding care of each NeoNatal staff member.
On arrival to CAH, our daughter was assigned to her nurse, Janice. As well as being a fantastic nurse, Janice's patience, calm attitude, friendly smile and over all presence around our daughter brought her on leaps and bounds. She also ensured our daughter finally got to meet her siblings in the most special way! Janice cared for our daughter on both day and night shifts which was a huge comfort to us.
A very special mention also to Séanna who continuously went out of her way to support not only our daughter, but us as parents. To see your baby in the care of such a gentle, skilled nurse and to know that no question was ever stupid brought us a lot of reassurance especially as we got closer to discharge.
Thank you to Donal for your positive attitude and encouragement to both our daughter and us throughout our journey in Neonatal.
It has been a pleasure to meet so many outstanding medical professionals in CAH Neonatal and we will never forget your time, patience and care for out daughter on her very special journey.
