"Wonderful Palliative Care"

About: Adult Health & Support Services / Specialist Palliative Care

(as a relative),

We would like to take the time to thank the District Nurses within Clydesdale ICST and their out of hours service for the wonderful palliative care they provided to my Dad.

We would like to specifically thank Aimee who visited my Dad weekly leading to his end of life. She is the most kind, supportive, informative, lovely person and provided such a reassuring, personal approach while being professional at all times. My family greatly benefitted from her visits and when my Dad deteriorated, his care and increased visits in his final days were so very much appreciated.

My Dad never saw a GP in his 2 year battle following a 5 month inpatient critical care stay but the DN service was fabulous and we are so blessed to have this support in NHS Lanarkshire to allow our loved ones to stay at home for their palliative care. Thank you also to Lorraine and her colleague who visited on two consecutive nights when my Dad needed support in his final days.

Dear CT1974,

I am sorry to hear of the recent passing of your father and would like to take this opportunity to offer my condolences. I do hope you are able to take comfort that your father was able to spend his last days at home surrounded by his family.

I am pleased to hear that you are happy with the care he received from our wonderful district nursing team and in particular the care and support provided by Aimee and Lorraine. I will be delighted to share your thanks with Aimee, Lorraine and the team as a whole.

The team are passionate about providing a person centred approach to all patients and feel priveleged to have cared for your father and the family at this difficult and distressing time.

The feedback you have provided at this sad time is greatly appreciated.

I would encourage you to make contact with the GP practice directly if you feel this would be of benefit to you or your family.

Kind regards

Karen
