"Car Parking"

About: Leigh Infirmary

Terrible experience, the overly-aggressive Security guy told me to move my car immediately, as it was allegedly causing an obstruction, even though it clearly wasn't. I tried to explain that my wife is a Blue Badge holder and is really struggling with her mobility, she has MS and recently had a full hip replacement, but he shut me down and refused to listen! By law, a Blue Badge holder can park on double-yellow lines, as long as it's not causing an obstruction. There was no parking close to the entrance to the hospital, the main carpark is closed, there is zero signage and the hospital have clearly not prioritised disabled people, which is discrimination and not the way to treat vulnerable people! My mum, who has dementia was in the car and was very confused by all the unnecessary drama and commotion. A Hospital Manager rolled up in his Range Rover, told me to shift my car otherwise it would be clamped! Not a nice experience.

Thank you for taking the time to post, I am extremely sorry to read of your experience and wanted to acknowledge that this must have been distressing for both you and your mum. I will bring this to the attention of the team, but if you would also like to discuss this further with our team they can be contacted on 01942 822376.

Kind regards

Emma Swift
