I’m in my 60s and I was admitted to the RVH in Belfast for two broken wrists and fractured humerus to my right arm.
I was initially put into burns unit in wee room with 2 other patients. I then went to theatre, had my surgery for humerus and right wrist.
After my surgery I was in 4C and ended on the corridor with screening around me. They moved me out a bay to accommodate another patient. It was horrendous as I’ve a stoma and asked a nurse to take me to the toilet, but they were so annoyed they said to another nurse - she’s not my patient!
The nurse who was in bay did take me but I never felt so uncomfortable and in the way in my life. I was on the border as they called it. Not one nurse came near me and when I shouted it was like hold on a minute but they never came back.
I rang my son to come up I was distraught by morning. I’ve never been so unhappy and really anxious in my life. I just wanted to highlight the situation I was in as a patient
