Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on the Care Opinion portal.

I am very sorry your experience within using the facilities in the Arches Wellbeing and Treatment Centre was poor today.

On receipt of your feedback, images where taken within the hour, please be assured no adjustments were made in advance.

The female toilet area on the second floor is a shared facility for public and staff.

Below are details on management this area:

· Toilets and area cleaned each evening, replenishing consumables such as soap and toilet paper.

· Toilet blockages are cleared by our onsite caretaker, any that cannot be cleared are reported to Estates for management.

· Paper handtowels were removed and replaced with hand dryers. It was found users were flushing handtowels resulting in toilet blockages.

· Reporting of issues, all staff are aware of reporting any issues with the centre reception team either in person, by email or phone. In early March a staff member reported their concerns regarding toilets, these were addressed with the exception of the broken toilet seat. There has not been any feedback from this staff member since.

· Toilet brushes are not in the toilets as these were found be left in a very unsuitable condition by users and unpleasant for all

· Cleaning team leave details of any faults found in the evening for centre reception to follow-up the next working day

· Toilet roll dispenser are a standard across the Trust. I understand the background is directed to managing infection control. Previous roll dispenser users placed their hand within the roll at time to find the end, hygiene concern when there are multiple users placing hands inside the dispensers. The pull out dispenser were put in place to address this issue. I will pass on your feedback.

Your feedback enables opportunity for improvements, the following will be undertaken:

· Sanitary dispenser and bags, current being sourced as this can be a contributing factor to blockages

· Communication:

o Folder to be placed for cleaning team input faults/concerns rather than leave notes

o Signage for public to indicate to report issues to centre reception. This message on care opinion gave realisation staff know the process if there is a fault or issue however the public would not.

· Follow-up on outstanding job requests of the toilet seat and skirting

You also may have further suggestions to help improve…..I would be more than happy for you to contact me directly on 028 9504 5597 or sandy.carney@belfasttrust.hscni.net

Kindest regards
