"This GP can provide amazingly fast services"

About: Veritas Health Centre

(as the patient),

Mixed opinions - on one hand, some of the staff members are very helpful and explain things well to ensure that I understand my care and what is available to me.

However, other staff members have made it difficult for me to access care; they have told me to take my questions up with the hospital departments or ring back at indefinite dates when different staff members may or may not be on.

I understand that sometimes providing care can be challenging, however I feel my questions shouldn't really be met with hostility when I am just trying to improve my health. I was also told that certain blood tests could be done by the GP, only then to be told later by the same clinician that they couldn't be when I rang back to ask.

It is generally also very difficult to get in-person appointments with this GP, which has proved to be an issue when I would appreciate (and have directly asked for) discussions to ensure that I am doing what I can to improve my health.

It seems that UK healthcare in general struggles to deal with hormone problems, but I felt there was no empathy from some of the workers, and while I appreciate that as a healthcare professional sometimes there are limits as to what you can offer to service users, I think being understanding of patient experience is also important (also duty of candour when taking responsibility for providing incorrect information to patients).

This GP can provide amazingly fast services, but it is also at the mercy of the attitude of some of it's workers.
