Due to chronic pain from physical disabilities, autistic sensory processing difficulties and a severe dental phobia I have been attending Kingscross. I realise I am not the easiest patient but was managing to have the necessary dental work done until the simple 'reasonable adjustments' I required were ignored. This caused me to miss my treatment and caused me severe physical and emotional distress, not to mention wasting time and money.
During the worst appointment, I was subjected to what I felt were sarcastic remarks and disapproving looks from the dental nurse present when I asked for adjustments to be considered, and completely ignored by the dentist. Due to this I experienced a severe physical reaction, which could have been easily avoided, and all dentistry was halted that day.
I have since been put on the waiting list for further work under general anaesthetic and was called for an assessment interview which I feel was both misleading and manipulative and has done little for my trust in this service.
Having requested my dental records I found them to be incomplete and misrepresentative, with errors and important omissions regarding my treatment.
It has been a difficult journey for myself and I am grateful to the dentists and nurses who supported my needs. Unfortunately I have also been left questioning the behaviour of the dentists who I feel bullied me into treatment which was unnecessary, ignored my direct requests regarding adjustments and misled me on policy. There are errors in my dental records which need adjusting too.
"Ignored my direct requests regarding adjustments"
