"They went out of their way to help"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Acute medical admissions (AMU)

(as the patient),

I had a recent impromptu 3 day stay on the AMU West unit of the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital, due to my asthma.

On the day of my discharge I needed to leave quickly in order to go on a pre-planned holiday with my family. I was quite worried and stressed about the timings and being able to leave hospital in good time.

Two of the nurses (Vicky and Beni) were so helpful and kind, despite being really busy with the other patients. They managed to get my paperwork and meds sorted so that I could leave promptly for my holiday. Alex, one of the pharmacy techs was also really helpful and went out of his way to help.

I just wanted to say a particular ‘thank you’ to them and the other staff members who looked after me.

Thanks!😊

Dear blackbirdnp68,

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback about your experience on AMU. I am glad to hear that you found the team helpful in organising a swift discharge and they were able to relieve some stress so you could still attend your holiday.

I will share your kind words with the team. I hope you have recovered well since.

Best wishes

Rachael Down
