I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer about 4 weeks ago. I am now waiting to have a mastectomy.

I have attended 6 clinics (breast cancer clinic Dr Arora) each time I (as well as numerous other ladies) wait for at least 3 hours to be seen (I assume this is due to the workload of the staff).

I am sure that other ladies will agree that to wait this length of time (for results usually on life expectancy/surgery required) is terrifying. There is never an apology.

Ladies are expected to wait up to 6 or 7 hours. Sometimes clinics are cancelled and you are not informed (you turn up to be told by reception).

Mr Arora and his team are sorry that you have had an unsatisfactory experience and agree the wait in the clinic can be excessive.

This is because they do a one stop clinic to see and investigate the patient fully in one day as far as possible. This is to obviate the need for repeated appointments. Patients are pre-warned about this through the letter of appointment that the new patients come in the clinic for the whole day.
