I presented at ED Hairmyers due to having over 24hr pain from gallstones. I waited just over 30 minutes before being triaged where I had my observations done and given pain relief by the nurse, I was then brought back in and had my urine checked and bloods taken by Jules, clinical support worker who was absolutely amazing, kind, compassionate and a complete credit to the department. She checked in on me later too.
Dr Sanuk was also very kind and professional and very thorough with all my tests and management, referring for surgical review too. Nurse Patrick was also wonderful and gave me medication and ensured I had anti sickness medication too, he was very professional and helpful and made me feel much less worried. Rab the lovely porter was also very professional and considerate and made me smile despite the pain I was in.
Every single member of staff were amazing and I am forever grateful for their kindness during a very frightening and daunting time. The pressure staff continue to face, long hours and dealing with not so appreciative patients, reminds me how deserving of better pay and conditions staff deserve. They are a total credit to the NHS and humanity as a whole. For every person either working or hoping to work in the caring profession then these people are the gold standard. I’ve met many staff who I feel should not be in the profession, but the whole team here were truly remarkable and restored my faith in the system. Thank you so much.
"Professional and very thorough"
