"Very professional and compassionate"

About: Scarborough General Hospital / Accident and emergency Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as the patient),

Unresolved chest pain related to my heart condition. Had to dial 999 for ambulance. Call handler and paramedic that spoke to me on the phone were really good and very caring. Ambulance crew were excellent, very friendly and very attentive to my symptoms.

A&E extremely busy so after being on ambulance for a while I was then taken to the ambulance cohort area. Darren and Dave the two ambulance crew were great. Very kind. As I was there for a while due to busy nature of department I was also then looked after by Curtis and two female ambulance crew whose names I cannot remember but who were lovely. All the crews were very good. Not just with me but the way they treated all the patients in their care with such compassion and dignity. Nothing was too much trouble to ensure that everyone was comfortable and well taken care of. Then once I was taken over by hospital staff they too were very professional and compassionate.

Although going to hospital is not what was expected it is so reassuring and comforting to be looked after by such amazing staff.

I would also like to give a mention to Chris the porter, who worked nonstop but was exceptionally caring to the patients. He went above and beyond to help them and did it all with humour and respect. Amazing.
