"Never there when I need them"

About: Billingshurst Surgery

(as a service user),

I suffer from a number of health conditions including heart failure and ischemic heart disease - I suffered a heart attack and a separate cardiac arrest in November 2018.

I am in my 60's so am fairly young to suffer from these conditions.

For the best part of the last week, I have had what I believed to be a heavy cold that I have dealt with via medications from the pharmacist.

Over the weekend, my condition worsened and I have developed a very nasty cough which leads me to believe that I may have a chest infection (I am coughing up yellow/green stuff)

During these coughing fits, I am getting very out of breath and anxious as I also get dizzy.

I have tried to book an appointment at Billingshurst Surgery this morning but they are too busy:

 - asking that I call 111 (and if I’m lucky , speak to a locum - see later.**)

- go to the chemist

-  and /or drive 20 miles to a walk in centre.

Initially, I spoke with one member of staff who I found to be obstructive, non caring and patronising - I then had the misfortune of speaking to another member of staff who repeatedly told me that were busy and under resourced. More interested in telling me their problems rather than listening to me.

I was told me they employ 9 GPs but only 3 of them are full time!

I don’t bother calling my GP when I need help because they are never there when I need them. With my medical conditions, I shouldn’t have to feel that way.
