"Special thanks to 2 nurses"

About: Acute Medical Unit / Ward 4 - Acute Medical Receiving

(as the patient),

I was admitted to Ward 4, Perth Royal Infirmary recently. Very high temperature, low oxygen levels, very high pulse.

The level of care provided under difficult circumstances was exceptional. I was diagnosed with Mycoplasma Bacterial Pneumonia.

I would like to mention special thanks to 2 nurses.

1. Staff nurse Susie, who looked after me and many patients on her day shift. Her professionalism was outstanding. She explained every medication I was receiving and why it was important in my recovery journey. She handled not just me, but all patients with respect and humility.  Some of the patients were not respectful to Susie and at times me, the ordinary human, would have walked away, but not Susie. Such an asset to the NHS, a person who works her little socks off every single day. Wise beyond her years.

2. Staff nurse Pauline. I had the pleasure of Pauline looking after me over my first 3 nights. With many years experience knows how to break down the barrier between patient/nurse/treatment. Her care was faultless with a little bit of light-heartedness attached. Made me feel that I was in good hands, specially required over the first couple of nights when I was quite poorly. Again, another credit to the NHS.
