My pacemaker was replaced 2 weeks and 3 days ago as the battery was running out. The minor operation was done at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary by Dr Fersia, cardiologist, and took less than half an hour.

Before the operation I was well briefed on the procedure by Dr Fersia and the senior nurse. After receiving a local anaesthetic the procedure  began and, from my point of view, was flawlessly done without any discomfort to me.

Post procedure I was taken to the recovery room where I rested for 2 1/2 hours. During my time in recovery the nurses were very attentive and helpful. I then went home.

I am glad to hear your experience was so positive and that you felt the care you received from Dr Fersia and the nursing team was flawless. I was pleased to read that you were able to return home two and a half hours after the procedure, and hope that you are now able to go about your daily activities.

I will share your feedback with the Cardiology team, as I know they will appreciate your kind words. We are fortunate to have such committed and dedicated staff within NHS Dumfries and Galloway and it is always heartening to receive such positive feedback.
