"Shocking"

About: Leeds General Infirmary

Advised to take 86 year old mum to A&E after fall. Waited 4 hours, passed from pillar to post ( signs and directions appalling) before being told at midnight that it would be 6 hours at least to see a doctor. Miserable staff making no effort whatsoever to assist a frail woman in considerable pain. Unable to cope with the wait through the night we discharged ourselves and went home with no idea what to do next.

Thank you for taking the time to write to us.

I am very sorry to read that you and your mum had such a distressing time whilst visiting our Accident and Emergency Department. The service that you have described is certainly not what we wish to offer.

I have passed your comments onto the Matron for urgent care at Leeds General Infirmary for information only.

Unfortunately there is not enough information in your post to allow us to look into the matters you have raised thoroughly. Therefore I would ask that you please contact our Trust’s Patient Advise and Liaison Service (PALS).

Please call our Patient Advise and Liaison Service (PALS) on 0113 206 6261 or alternatively email patientexperience.leedsth@nhs.net

kindest regards
